Mill Hill students won an impressive total of 42 awards when they took part in the annual Maths Challenge set by the UK Maths Trust at Leeds University.

Up to 200,000 students across the UK compete in this prestigious event, which only the best mathematicians enter. Pupils scoring in the top 10% are awarded Gold Awards, top 25% Silver and top 40% Bronze and we were delighted that mill Hill students won 13 Gold, 12 Silver and 17 Bronze Awards from our 64 entrants.

Our top mathematicians were 4th Formers Ben Clarke, Christos Charalambous, Andrew Moore and Malcolm Walsh, along with 5th form stars Greg Walsh, Arlisa Saro, Ella Jakubowska, Ben Abrahams and – last but far from least – Simon Bai, Haruka Morita, Theodor Araby-Kirkpatrick, Alex Burr, and Aidan Kelly from the Removes.

All these 4th form pupils have been invited to go forward to the next round and to take a higher grade paper. And we are delighted to report that two of the Removes, Simon Bai and Haruka Morita, will be taking part in the Olympiad Maths Paper which is only one step from the final to be held at Leeds University.

Well done to all those who participated and performed so well, and especially to those invited to sit the higher papers. Good luck!
