The Middlesex Cup …and Beyond!

Mill Hill’s 1st XV were crowned Middlesex Cup champions on Wednesday 19th, finishing the game against Latymer Upper School 48-6. Some outstanding play in the second half secured them the victory: moves were executed to perfection, the off loads going to hand – there was no stopping this side. The back row of Dan Richards, Sam Castle and Charlie O’Shea were at every breakdown either securung ball or turning it over. Stefan Novakovic scrummaged well and was effective in open play. The backs came good and centres Sam Rosenkranz and Hugo Watson delivered the goods with timely passes from Ollie Bass.

Meanwhile, the girls’ 1st XI hockey side, who so recently won their own Middlesex Cup, put on a storming performance at the South Regional Hockey Finals played at Surbiton Hockey Club. The girls played six matches and won against Pangbourne College (2-1,) Portsmouth Girls School (2-0), and William Borlase (2-0), and drew with St Edwards (1-1). Captained by Jodie Moss, the team finished joint 2nd missing out on medals by just one goal. This is the highest placing a Mill Hill Girls’ Hockey team has ever reached.
