8MR Science Trip

As part of their curriculum 8MR had a wonderful educational trip to the Natural History museum. Highlights included an interactive science show through which they encountered some of the largest and smallest specimens in the museum and discovered how and why scientists classify life. They went on to explore ‘The Cocoon’ – a journey through the Darwin Centre – where they used interactive displays and encountered working scientists to learn about how the museum collected, stored and cared for over 20 million specimens. After learning about how important the collection was for research carried out throughout the world, the children had the opportunity to explore a number of other galleries including the ever-popular exhibition of dinosaurs.
