To enhance their knowledge of the Jewish New Year a Grimsdell parent came into the school and explained to the children all about the Shofar which is an instrument made from the horn of a ram or other Kosher animal. It is blown on Rosh Hashanah marking the beginning of the New Year. As an ‘aide memoire’ the children also learnt a song about how the Shofar is played.
