Last Friday Year 2 were very lucky to be visited by professional cellist and teacher Dr Oliver Gledhill, who delighted us all with a ’cello workshop and performances of well-known pieces by J.S Bach and Saint-Saëns.
The children learnt an awful lot about the ’cello and asked many intelligent questions such as “How do you make it louder?”, “Why do you use two hands to play?” and “What are the strings called?”
The children had an opportunity to play the cello using quarter sized instruments and performed to their friends.
