Walking in a Winter Wonderland

Every year, just before the end of the Autumn Term, Belmont transforms into a winter paradise. Trees are festooned with lights, banisters hung with tinsel and ornaments and decorations adorn every surface all to prepare, of course, for one very special visitor…

Arriving to melodic tones of our choir singing on the chapel steps, Father Christmas arrived complete with Rudolph to signal the start of the Friends of Belmont’s ‘Winter Wonderland’, sponsored by Galliard Homes. Our Jubilee, Gym and Proctor Buildings offered three venues packed full of stalls and activities ranging from Tree of Fortune to Present Rooms. Naturally, Father Christmas didn’t pass up the opportunity to gain some last minute ideas for stocking fillers and took residence in his grotto.

Our Friends of Belmont helpers – we were very luck to have so many – worked extraordinarily hard to make this occasion a really exceptional treat for all our children (and parents and teachers too!) Without their hard work and dedication the event would be impossible to even imagine so we as school extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents who helped this year but especially to Mrs Shah, Mrs Fox, Mrs Sheppard, Mrs Scott, Ms Blackman and Mr Pelham.

Our thanks goes out too to all the sponsors and supporters, including Galliard Homes and Real Estates. Your help is very much appreciated.

With all the help we have had this year we have managed to raise a record £9,208 so thank you so much to all who attended Winter Wonderland we hope you had as wonderful a time as we did. In due course the profit will be split between the school and Spread a Smile, this year’s charity which sends entertainers into hospitals to help sick children.
