Pupil Wins Duke of York’s iDEA Award

Our congratulations go to Fifth Form pupil Jamie Davies who is excelling in the area of ICT.

Just recently, he was a winner of The Duke of York’s iDEA Award for young entrepreneurs and has founded a start-up business which was invited onto an incubator program and received £90k of funding during its first year. In this respect he was invited to speak at the Houses of Parliament and appeared on The One Show to talk about this business.

Jamie has won a large number of hackathons run by organisations such as PayPal, Dropbox, Tesco, Amnesty International and McDonalds and he is currently working for a start-up called ‘TalkLife’ alongside researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Recently, he has become interested in machine learning and he hopes to study artificial intelligence at MIT when he leaves Mill Hill School after his A levels.
