B-Fest 2016

The sun shone, the sun went, the showers came then the hail, the sun returned followed by a light monsoon! The children danced, jumped, bounced, shot each other with lasers and water pistols, kicked footballs, bowled cricket balls, had crazy coloured hair and even ran their own Young Enterprise stall! Some adults did very similar and some spent the day chatting under the beautiful Belmont trees trying to keep dry and just enjoying the true festival vibe that rain and mud brings! The weather did not beat us though, nor did it dampen our spirits; with true British resilience, B-Fest 2016 was unstoppable!

The highlights included the brilliant BOP dance crew – they were absolutely fantastic and inspired loads of children to carry on dancing in the rain! The Last Man Standing Teachers’ rounds were magnificent. A big thank you to all the teachers who took part and bravely faced a huge revolving arm and a wet floor in the name of entertainment! Mr Symes and Miss Hockley did themselves proud by winning their respective rounds against strong opposition.

We would like to thank everyone for coming despite the weather. Thanks to all parents, staff, sponsors and visiting stallholders. However the hugest thank you of all must go to the children, who showed us all how much fun can be had in the pouring rain!

Lake District

Year 7 spent their activity week immersed in the natural beauty of the Lake District. Although there were serious geological observations taking place as the trip is designed to form the practical element of the Year 7 & 8 Geography coursework project, our Year 7 still found some time to sneak in some abseiling and caving!
