Woburn Abbey Triathlon

Whilst I was preparing a Sunday roast for my family, a good number of Belmontian children, teachers and parents were pushing themselves to the limit at the Woburn Abbey Triathlon.

Congratulations go to all those who took part;

Event Name of Belmontian, Staff and Parents
Scooterthon  Rubén (1st) Sam (2nd) Amirali,  Evie
Junior Tri Age 9- 12 Dominic  (3rd) Archie (5th) George, Anton, Neri, William & Lucy, Charlie, Jake, Francesco, Duncan & Ellie, Max & Ella.
Junior Tri Age 13 – 16 Jamie, Jesse & Arthur
Sprint  Mr Robinson, Mr Symes, Mr Billows, Mr McNaught, Mr Warren, Mr Caielli, Mr Spink, Mrs Anselm, Mrs Robinson & Mrs Roughton
Olympic Distance  Mr Nash, Mr Jaffer

I am informed that it was a really tough event and all the children, teachers and parents who took part were a huge credit to the school, showing great resilience, in particular when participating in the open water swim. Across the school there were some outstanding results.  In addition to some fabulous performances, close to £3000 was raised in sponsorship for FOB charities and the ABC bursary fund.

Finally, a special thanks has to go to Mr Billows and Mr Anselm for organising such a fantastic event and allowing Belmont to be part of such a prestigious day. The Belmont staff also took their hats off to Mr Nash and Mr Jaffer who took part in the full Olympic distance event! I am told that entries for the 2018 event are already open, please see Mr Billows for more details. Maybe I’ll think about entering the 2020 event…
