Transformations in Science & Art

In 2003, to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of the discovery of DNA and celebrate the role played in that discovery by Oldmillhillian Francis Crick, the school bought a set of fine art limited edition prints for the refurbished Conference Centre.

‘Transformations in Science and Art’ is a monumental cross-media artwork by artists Clare O’Hagan and Denise Wyllie, created during an Arts Residency with a group funded by Cancer Research UK, working in the Department of Oncology at University College London.

In their work, the artists celebrate the growing awareness of the importance of DNA in cancer research, and the positive developments in drug therapies over the last fifty years.
