Henry Shaw of St Louis

Henry Shaw is good example of how Millhillians changed the world in the Victorian era. He helped establish the city of St Louis, Missouri, which he endowed with a botanical park, a herbarium, a museum and an observatory. When he died in 1889 he was buried in his park close to a cedar grown from a cutting taken from Mill Hill.
