Kate Adie at Mill Hill

The Large was packed with an appreciative audience for Kate Adie’s lecture “The Kindness of Strangers”. The author and broadcaster has become a familiar figure to people through her work as Chief News Correspondent for BBC News, and Radio 4’s From Our Own Correspondent. Kate Adie has twice been named Reporter of the Year by the Royal Television Society – the first occasion being for her coverage of the SAS end to the Iranian Embassy siege in 1973. She was awarded an OBE in 1993.

Kate Adie’s Mill Hill lecture was based on her book “The Kindness of Strangers” which has been on the Sunday Times bestseller lists for 37 weeks, and has sold more than half a million copies.
