Old Millhillian Keith Murray is regarded as one of the most important designers of the early 20th Century. From 1932 to 1948, Keith Murray produced over a thousand designs in ceramics, glass and metals for companies such as Stevens & Williams (glass), Wedgwood (ceramics) and Mappin & Webb (silver and silver plate). Murray trained as an architect and was responsible for a number of important industrial buildings including Hong Kong Airport and the wonderful Art Deco hangars at Heathrow Airport. Murray had a lifelong interest in aviation, having been a highly decorated squadron commander in the Royal Flying Corps during the Great War.
