High-tech Robot

Japanese Trip

Lower Sixth pupils spent a week over the Easter break visiting Tokyo. Greeted by current Millhillienne Yuri Mori and her mother, pupils experienced the full Japanese culture and lifestyle including sampling local dishes of fish, meat and starch in traditional Japanese-style restaurants. Impressed by the gleaming ultra modern skyscrapers of the city and the blossom-covered cherry trees which lined the banks of the river, pupils also visited shrines, temples and museums including the Museum of Emerging Science and Technology and an open air art gallery. The party also travelled on the ‘Shinkensen’ (the bullet train) and toured the fascinating Toyota factory in Toyota City where they were suitably impressed with its high-tech robotic machinery.
