Duck Visit
We went to visit the ducks that have been in Nursery. They were very lively and wriggly! Their feathers felt so soft but their feet had sharp little claws.
Iditarod Race
We have been learning all about the Iditarod Race which is happening now in Alaska. The Iditarod Race is organised to save the sled dog culture and Alaskan huskies and to preserve the historical Iditarod trail between Sewad and Nome. This week we have been looking closely at some of the mushers that are taking part in this race. We have spent time learning about how huskies have adapted to live in such cold climates and we have made our own clay husky models. We have also been investigating and making our own sleds.
2AM Husky Art
While we were learning about Huskies some of the children wanted to draw detailed pictures of them. We used pictures and drawings of huskies to provide us with stimulus for our art work which we completed by sketching in pencil.
