B-FEST 2018!

B-Fest was back with a BANG this year! It was time to fiesta with flower power and fun! Watch the video below for a sneak peek of the day filmed and edited by Sammy (7OM).

The Steel Band, DJ, graffiti boards and flower garlands brought the carnival atmosphere from Notting Hill to Mill Hill. The beautiful Belmont field was filled with the enticing aroma of the Greek BBQ, the 2nd largest slide in Europe, a giant assault course, laser tag, Last Man Standing, bungee trampolines, interesting stalls, great games, sweets galore, Pinky’s Pavilion, Porsches, children running around with crazy coloured hair and adults chilling out with a nice glass of Pimms by the Belmont Bar.

Mr Phillips stole the crown on Last Man Standing and the Bop Dancers stole the show with several cool performances and costumes to match!

B-Fest 2018 was not only a fun, super-chilled day out for the Belmont families and staff, it also raised a stunning £16,600 for school, Auditory Verbal UK and the Pelham Family Fund!

All of this would not have been possible without the generosity and support from the Belmont community, from the parents who helped set up the event, to the staff who manned the bar and took one for the team on the Wet Sponge; we are deeply grateful for your enthusiasm, encouragement and involvement. Thank you to all of our incredible sponsors and to Olçar Walsh for bringing the carnival vibe to life in her cool, Latino designs. Thanks as always to the Groundsmen, to Mike Gibson and to the Fantastic Mr Fleet for all that you do!

That is Team FOB 2017/18 finished.  We have had a crazy year peppered with sadness and hilarity. The sadness being the terrible loss of David Pelham for his family, friends, school and FOB. The highlights for us being the incredible auctions at Winter Wonderland, lucking in with the weather on both the big events and persuading Mr Fleet that silly string was actually an excellent idea…oh and rather a lot of Prosecco! We hope you have all enjoyed the events. Even though Belmont has grown hugely, we hope that our events have reminded everyone that we are a wonderful community and Belmont rocks!

Signing off for 2018,
