Our learning this week has turned from Red Kites (birds) to kites (objects). The children have become kite experts and have learned about the history and significance of kites around the world. Children enjoyed creating their own information board to display the information that they found out. The task encouraged children to think creatively about the presentation of their work whilst being challenged to make comparisons between kites in different cultures and to include subheadings, photographs, and labels.
In Art/DT, children were very excited to make their own Diamond Kite. Prior to this, in order to decide on the most suitable material to use for their design, they investigated the properties of different materials.
