This week in Nursery…

We have had a wonderful but wet week in Nursery. The children have not let the wet weather dampen their spirits and enjoyed looking at how the wet weather changed the environment around them.

The children enjoyed learning the new sounds ‘v and w’ we decorated these with violet paint and wool.

The children have been practising for sports day, they have loved this, especially the egg and spoon race however at first they found this a little hard but after a few tries they were amazing.

The children have enjoyed the role play area this week, we changed it into a home corner. However, the children have been using their imagination in this area and it has been many things particularly a restaurant where they have been making lots of food for each other using playdough.

We looked at patterns and names of various fish we then used this knowledge to create some truly beautiful pictures for Father’s day.

It is healthy eating week this week and the children have learnt all about what foods are good for us and how much we should be eating. They learnt that we should be eating 5 pieces of fruit and vegetables a day and that we are allowed chocolate and sweets but only as a treat.

Today the children had great fun for mix-up day, they enjoyed meeting each other and everyone made some new friends. The children had their last visit to the nursery forest school, met their new teachers and enjoyed watching a fantastic show ‘Tiddler’ put on by the students from MMHI.
