Our grass is growing well, the children have now been taking turns to cut and water it. This week in Reception we have been thinking about sharing. We began the week with circle time. We gave 6 children a piece of A4 paper and asked them how we could make it so that everyone had some. After establishing that simply going and getting more paper was not an option and much debate, each of the classes found their own solutions. In class we are reinforcing the words ‘When you have finished, please can I have a turn?’ and the children are using the phrase and using the resources in our rooms beautifully. We then used the concept of sharing to reinforce our maths talking about sharing equally between 2 people, is it fair? How do you know? And what happens when you have an odd number? Do you have some treats your child could share out at home?
