This week in Year 1, our focus has been on plants. The different part of plants and their functions and identifying and naming different plants in the wild and in our gardens. We described a world without flowers, like from the story ‘The flower’ by John Light. We learnt about contractions and used these to write our Wild Challenge pledge. For example, I shouldn’t use single use plastics, I won’t waste paper.
In maths we have continued to work with halving and doubling and odd and even numbers. In Art and DT, we pressed flowers and leaves and got to choose different mediums to create our favourite flower.
