What a fantastic time we have had celebrating Book Week!
Reception have developed a love of reading throughout the year and it was so lovely to celebrate this.
We started off the week following a treasure map leading us to The Cabin, where we found a creature hidden in the wild! The book ‘Where the wild things are’ and a letter was left for us to find. Max had lost his crown and needed help getting back home! The children made such lovely crowns independently and in groups wrote directions to lead him back to his mummy. We also retold the story and put pictures in a sequence of events.
We have enjoyed taking part in book week activities including, sharing our favourite book with our friends, having visits from other classes to share a book, figuring out answers to book clues, meeting the author Tim Knapman and dressing up for World Book Day. One of our favourite things this week was having our ‘mystery readers’ come in and read to us. A big thank you for coming in, it was really special.
