A* for Amadeus

Dear Parents

I hope you all had a fantastic half term and enjoyed some quality time with your family.

Year 8 Drama Production

Last night’s Year 8 performance of Amadeus was just astonishing. I was astounded by the quality of the children’s acting, the choreography, the sets and the music. The audience was gripped from start to finish and the pupils lived and breathed their characters, drawing us into the world of Amadeus and Salieri. I would like to thank all of the staff for their support in putting the show together: Steve Smith, Sam Sulkin, Jackie Ince, Ollie McGuinness, James McNulty, Geogina Perrin, Adrian Warren and Bobbie Smith all made a huge contribution. Last but not least, Libby Russo’s direction was outstanding. Her creative mind, passion and her ability to inspire the children and cast them in the right parts is nothing short of a gift. Thank you Libby for an incredible evening!

Scholarship Success

I am delighted that a good number of children achieved academic and music exhibitions in the 11+ Belmont Scholarship process. 28 Belmontians also achieved exhibitions and scholarships at Mill Hill at 13+ in a range of different areas. Congratulations to all of the children and also well done to the pupils who just missed out; I hope they can also feel proud of their achievements.

Finally, thank you to Mr Spink and all of his team for organising the Ski Trip to Claviere, Italy over half term. The children had the most wonderful experience.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Best wishes

Leon Roberts
