Celtic Harmony

Year 4 pupils travelled back through the ages to the time of the Celts as the year group embarked on their trip to Celtic Harmony in Hertfordshire. Having begun their study of this civilisation in their History lessons, pupils and teachers alike were excited to see what their day as a Celtic farmer would hold. And it certainly didn’t disappoint. From exploring the different herbs the Celts would have used to heal members of their communities, to carding soft lamb’s wool to make yarn, all the children thoroughly enjoyed their trip back in time. One highlight for Year 4 pupils was getting to grind corn, using a quern-stone, to produce enough flour to make their very own loaves of bread.
