A wide range of Awards are offered to pupils entering in the Fourth and Sixth Forms (Years 9 and 12). These Awards broadly fall into two categories – Scholarships and Bursaries. Scholarships, which attract a maximum of 25% fee remission, are available to pupils showing exceptional talent in a variety of areas both in the classroom and on the sports field. In addition to major awards, there are a number of minor Awards or Exhibitions also on offer. The Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster (External) or the Assistant Registrar are happy to advise parents and feeder schools about any of these awards.
Bursaries are available for those entrants able to demonstrate a financial need. Parents will be asked to complete a detailed statement of their financial circumstances. Applicants for Bursaries will be selected in the normal way. A new initiative is the provision of full fee Bursaries for a limited number of Lower Sixth entrants. It is possible for bursary funds to be used to top up Scholarship Awards. As with scholarship queries, the Headmaster, Deputy Headmaster (External) or the Assistant Registrar are happy to offer advice.
ABC stands for A Better Chance. Thanks to the generosity of Old Millhillians, the Foundation is able to offer a full-fee bursary to a pupil (from a low income family) with the credentials to be successful at Mill Hill School. The donors who fund this bursary believe that Mill Hill gave them an excellent start in life, a basis on which to build success in their careers. They wish to make a similar opportunity available to a young person in the future.
Full information can be found on the Fourth Form and Sixth Form Awards pages, including a downloadable application form.
