4th Form Curriculum

Sports and Activities

In addition to timetabled PE and Games lessons, all Fourth Form pupils take part in at least three extra-curricular activities during the week. Two of these sessions are used to develop skills in the major sport of the term. For the girls these are Hockey in the Autumn Term, Netball in the Spring Term and Rounders/Tennis in the Summer Term. For the boys these are Hockey, Rugby and Cricket. The third session is given over to Adventure Training and the Combined Cadet Force (CCF).

Pupils have the opportunity to opt into a variety of other sports and activities. Options include:

Sports
Badminton, basketball, cross country, fives, golf, hockey, indoor cricket nets, indoor football, mountain biking, outdoor football, sailing, scuba diving, shooting, short tennis, squash, swimming, street dance, table tennis, tae kwon do.
Activities
Chamber choir, chamber orchestra, chess, choir, computing, drama, DT club, general knowledge, ICT, jazz ensemble, music theory, orchestra, philosophy, yoga.
Summer Term Adventure Training Camp
In the Summer Term Fourth Form pupils take part an adventure training camp, which is provided by the CCF, using specialist centres where there are opportunities for climbing, walking, camping, field craft, sailing, canoeing, mountain biking, abseiling and many other activities. Fully trained instructors run the activities, in conjunction with Mill Hill staff.
The adventure training camp provides a valuable educational experience for our pupils, for many of whom the activities will be new and challenging. They come back tired but triumphant, having learned things about themselves and others that ordinary lessons cannot teach.
