Design TechnologyAs the name of this subject suggests, Design and Technology is continuously evolving and upgrading as a subject. In recent years we have seen a number of improvements/changes in both teaching systems and equipment.
We have 30 top end computers with 19″ widescreen monitors. This means we can draw diagrams and read words viewed as 1:1 scale, or easily work on two packages simultaneously. We can view and manipulate video which can then be placed into presentations. The modular GCSE courses now accept power point CDs for coursework evidence to include advertising promotions. This method of assessment greatly enhances the strengths of the department. We have better workshop facilities to aid pupils to produce high quality manufactured products. Most importantly, we have the quality and dedication of staff who can deliver the teaching of the subject effectively.
We do not rest on our laurels however and more changes are planned to enhance the department over the coming years.
