Peter Lawson, Collinson’s Housemaster

Peter Lawson, Collinson’s Housemaster, was a pupil at City of London School and is a graduate of the Modern Languages Faculty of St Andrew’s University. Following a PGCE from Nottingham University, he started his teaching career with seven years at Merchant Taylors’ School, Northwood.

He moved to Mill Hill School in 1989 and was the inaugural master-in-charge of the School’s European Section, which won a British Council European Curriculum Award in 1997. Prior to taking up his post in Collinson in 2005, he was Head of Modern Languages and then Housemaster of Priestley, a day House. He is a keen traveller to Eastern Europe, recently conducting School-supported personal research in the countries of former Yugoslavia. He is married to Helen who is Head of Religious Education at Belmont, Mill Hill’s Preparatory School. They have two daughters, both of whom attended Mill Hill: Esther who is now an English teacher and Elspeth who recently graduated from Warwick University.
