Graeme Turner

McClure Housemaster

Graeme Turner, who became Housemaster in 2009, is an Old Wrekinian. After leaving school he studied Chemistry at the University of Wales, Bangor, and Bath University. A keen sportsman, he represented the Welsh Universities at rugby on numerous occasions and has continued his love for the game in being Director of Rugby at Mill Hill. Last season the 1st XV were undefeated for the first time since 1950.

Graeme started his teaching career in Botswana where he worked in a small secondary school in a township on the outskirts of Selebi Phikwe for three years. In this time travelled extensively throughout Southern Africa and also gained his Private Pilot’s Licence. On returning from Africa, Graeme took up his post of Teacher of Chemistry at Mill Hill in 2000. After four years of working as a Resident Tutor in Collinson, Graeme was appointed Director of Rugby in January 2005 and became Housemaster of McClure in September 2009. In his free time, Graeme enjoys taking part in triathlons, playing golf and travelling. He is married to Laura and has two children, Sienna and Jake.
