Berinda Banks arrived at Mill Hill School 20 years ago, as Head of Design and Technology. Intending to remain for only a few years, she has been tempted to stay by a wealth of opportunities which have included travel to Romania to re-furbish three Blue Peter orphanages, linking up with the Nicaragua project while touring Central South America and accompanying many amazing school visits from taking drama students to Edinburgh and Geography students to the Yorkshire Dales, to several Classics/MFL trips to Europe, a joyous Christmas visit to New York with the choir plus two DT tours of Japan during the cherry blossom season! When persuaded to remain on site, her love of tutoring encouraged an invitation to become Housemistress, firstly in McClure House and most recently in School House. At the moment she is busy supporting the Young Engineers scheme, helping 6th form pupils to design and model a carbon neutral housing project as well as working as a moderator for OCR. She has a son, Jotis who was also in School House and who now works as a Designer in London, and lives with a very spoiled cat called Mia.
