The Mill Hill swimming squad enjoyed a fantastic day’s competition against Charterhouse on the 18th October. The Open Age girls’ team won convincingly 55 – 25, with Mill Hill winning every race, and achieving 2nd and 3rd place in most races as well. It was a truly great team effort by all girls in the squad: Rachel Morton, Olivia Monaghan, Nicole Harvey, Leyla Young, Katie Newton, Jess Perkins, Tabitha Mainstone and Natalia Miller.
Mill Hill also flew down the pool in our Intermediate Boys’ races, drawing for 1st place with Charterhouse. Highlights of the day included three wins from James Creager, who gained 1st place in the IM, Butterfly, Freestyle (100m and 50m), while Sebastian Balcombe swam a personal best time in his 50m Freestyle event, gaining 2nd place. Jackie Tam also swam extremely strongly in his Breaststroke race, gaining 2nd place – only milliseconds behind the winner.
Despite a loss with our Junior Boys team, Charles Auterac put in a series of great individual performances, coming 1st in Backstroke, IM and Butterfly, while Oliver Simmons came 2nd in Breaststroke and freestyle. Our freestyle relay team – Martin Maticevic, Charles Auterac, Oliver Simmons and Ollie Price – triumphed by coming first in their race.
Well done to all the swimmers in the squad, all the hard work at training is really starting to pay off.
All the school teams continue to perform well with the rugby 1st XV still unbeaten.
