48 Belmont swimmers raised £5,168.18 when they completed more than 4,000 lengths in a 60 minute sponsored swimathon. The money was for Cancer Research UK. The swimmers presented their cheque to 19-year-old former Belmontian James Ellen as a contribution towards his fundraising efforts for Cancer Research UK. James completed his epic walk in June, covering 1049 miles from John O’Groats to Land’s End via the Three Peaks in only 10 weeks and 1 day.
