Green Month continues until 27th February across the Foundation. From Grimsdell’s Wishing Tree and Belmont’s Eco-Committee video to the specially produced information packs at Mill Hill, activities are planned for all areas of School life. Foundation-wide events include the art exhibition and the Recycled Fashion Show on February 26th.
Projects, competitions and activities focussing on environmental issues will include:
Cross Foundation Recycled fashion show on February 26th at lunchtime – prizes to be awarded by panel of judges on the day. Entry fee: £1 Grimsdell and Belmont; £2 Mill Hill
Foundation-wide art show
Grimsdell Year 2/6th Form link project on environmental awareness
Day pupils’ Art sculpture competition on the theme of Recycling/Energy conservation (minimum of 1 entry per House, deadline for entries 24 February)
Boarders’ poster competition on the theme of Recycling/Energy conservation (minimum of two entries per House, deadline for entries 24 February)
Plastic bottle recycling trials in all Houses
Waste audit from 2nd to 13th February in the dining room: waste food on plated meals measured. Smaller portions offered in an effort to reduce the amount of waste. Results to be displayed on a daily basis
Academic departments will focus on environmental issues within the curriculum, and there will be displays in the library and on the Eco board in School House.
