The Year 6 and 8 ski trip ventured to new grounds this year with a trip to Stowe in Vermont, USA. Although the journey was a long one the pupils bore it well. Our accommodation was good, the food was splendid and the indoor swimming pool was well used. Regular room checks provided the pupils with ample opportunity to win over the staff and the games room was a real find. The skiing was challenging at times but the instructors were excellent and made a tremendous effort in getting to know their groups. Evening activities included a trip to Ben and Jerry’s ice cream factory, a night of bowling and a disco with a very interesting ‘dance-off’. Although the trip back was even longer, with a delay, the pupils were all very well behaved and showed a real enthusiasm and willingness to enjoy themselves throughout the trip. My thanks must go to all the staff who helped make holiday so enjoyable.
