Years 7 and 8 enjoyed a visit from author Mark Billingham. His witty and energetic presentation was designed to inspire our pupils to continue reading for enjoyment, in contrast to national trends which show a huge decline once children reach secondary school.
Under the pseudonym Will Peterson, Mark writes children’s books, and the second book in his Triskellion trilogy of paranormal thrillers for older children has just been published. Writing in his own name, Mark Billingham is an multi-award-winning crime author, with each one of his novels appearing in the Sunday Times Top Ten bestseller list. Mark regularly reviews books and movies on Radio 4’s Front Row and has recently presented a Radio 4 documentary about Patricia Highsmith as well as a four part TV series about notorious murders for the History Channel.
