Old Belmontian Represents England

School building

A number of our talented Y8 cricketers went to Lords’ to watch the England Under 15 Cricket team play an England Schools’ Under 16 team. The game was of particular interest as the number 3 batsman for the England Under 15 team was Ex-Belmontian Adam R, who attended Belmont from 2004-2006. He scored hundreds of runs in his time at Belmont and was one of the most gifted batsman the school has seen. Since moving to Mill Hill he has continued to make excellent progress, playing for the 1st XI in his first year and scoring more runs than any other batsman. Having scored 54 and 92 in the Bunbury Festival for the South of England, Adam was awarded a place in the England side.

Our Year 8 boys watched and cheered Adam on as he battled through his innings of 35 in very difficult batting conditions. In the end the result was a tie with Adam achieving the second highest score of the day. We hope to arrange for Adam to come along to some of our First XI training sessions to pass on some helpful tips to our current crop of talented players.
