Anti-Bullying Week Supports Kidscape

The Mill Hill Anti-Bullying and Mentors’ Council (ABMC) led a range of activities and events for Anti-Bullying Week here in School, with all proceeds donated to the anti-bullying charity Kidscape.

To include every member of the School, the ABMC delivered three separate assemblies on the subject of bullying in general, and cyber-bullying in particular. Some of the pupils within the ABMC made and sold ‘Blue Cakes’ at morning break which raised well over £100 in less than an hour. The ABMC also organized an inter-House competition to create an anti-bullying based on a principal theme of ‘Blue Hands’. This allowed pupils to purchase and personalise a ‘Blue Hand’ for inclusion in their House’s display to symbolise their personal commitment to oppose bullying here at Mill Hill. The posters, which were displayed in the Octagon and The Large, were judged by Dr Luckett and Mrs Sanchez who awarded the Top Three:

1st – School House: A good design and, in particular, for excellent points of detail that were specific to the subject of cyber bullying.
2nd – Ridgeway: Awarded for sheer visual appeal and for the care that had gone into it.
3rd – Burton Bank: A very original and eye-catching poster that was a little different to many of the others.
