Following Old Millhillian Jack Weller’s excellent result in this year’s Tripos examination at Kings College Cambridge, the College Council have elected him to be a Scholar of the College. This title, which dates from the foundation of King’s, carries an emolument of £250.00. He has also been awarded a travel exhibition for his work.
Jack attended a short ceremony in King’s College Chapel at which the Provost, Professor Mike Proctor, formally awarded his Scholarship and invited him to sign the Scholars’ Book.
This was a doubly significant moment for Mill Hill School as Professor Proctor, who is still a Governor here, had just relinquished the Chairmanship of the Court of Governors on taking up the position of Provost at King’s College.
Joining Jack as a Scholar at King’s this term is Choral Award winner Benedict Kearns.
