Millhillian Climbs to New Heights

In recent weeks, Nathan Whaley (Fourth Form, Priestley) has competed at four rock-climbing competitions across the country as a member of the GB Junior Boulder Team.

He won both the London and Nottingham Under 16 competitions and came second in Leeds. Last weekend saw the National Youth Cup competition, attracting top climbers from all over the UK. Nathan was in the Youth B section (those born in 2001/2), and won the competition; the only boy to complete all three ‘boulders’ in the final. He has one more event this year, an Under 16 competition in Brighton on 12 December, and has been selected for the 2016 GB Bouldering Team. He hopes to compete internationally next year.
