Winter Wonderland 2017

Last weekend Winter Wonderland arrived to Belmont and no, we are not talking about the snow but the extraordinary extravaganza that is our Christmas Fair!

Despite not being able to use the gym and the fear of freezing temperatures, the sun shone and, in the true spirit of Belmont, the show went on!  From the first note sung by the Chamber Choir to the last winning ticket pulled on the Grand Raffle, Winter Wonderland flew by in a flurry of jumping, running around, gorgeous stalls, fun games, good food and two awesome auctions!

Highlights included the teachers’ round on Last Man Standing; a huge congratulations to Ben Williams, new champion!  Miss Risianova’s Young Enterprise team pulled in the punters and due to their hard work and dedication had their best fair ever.  The Silent Auction had some serious bidding wars on a record number of brilliant & imaginative donations this year.  The new Art Auction looked stunning in the Chapel – thank you Mr McNulty.

The fantastic day has now also become a fantastic fundraising achievement.  We are proud to announce that Winter Wonderland raised a whopping £18,200, which will be shared between school and our chosen charities; The Pelham Family Fund and Auditory Verbal UK.

A huge thanks to the class reps and parents who have helped in the weeks leading up to Winter Wonderland – you made a giant job small with plenty of laughs along the way!  This year, more than ever, Belmont parents have given us time, enthusiasm and donations – we cannot thank you enough! We must also thank our sponsors LRC, Galliard Homes, EPF Group and IT Luggage for their generosity.  Thanks to Olçar Walsh of WildHorse for her beautiful designs, Mike Gibson, Marlene and her lovely catering staff, the amazing Groundsmen and all of the teachers and staff, especially the Fantastic Mr Fleet!

We hope that we did David proud.  It’s only a few weeks since we lost our co-chair and friend and we missed him hugely.

In the words of Charles M. Schulz (Peanuts cartoonist) “Christmas is doing a little extra for someone”.  The Belmont community have certainly done that!

Have a wonderful Festive break!
