The CCF’s Challenging Training at Longmoor Camp

Forty-one senior cadets from Mill Hill School CCF including pupils from Mill Hill County high School took part in a challenging and rewarding exercise at Longmoor Camp’s Urban Training Complex in Hampshire.

The cadets planned and led numerous patrols to simulate the operation of a security force, involving protection of the base, reconnaissance and information gathering. Over the course of the exercise, this built a picture of the scenario culminating in a night patrol and an exciting dawn mission to clear six buildings in the complex.

The cadets all performed extremely well and remained cheerful and upbeat towards the end of the exercise when clearly quite tired. They have set a high standard demonstrating considerable leadership skills and will undoubtedly be competent Section Commanders for the junior cadet exercise in March.
