Success at the Barnet Schools Cross Country Championships

The annual Barnet Schools Cross Country Championships schools took place at the home of Saracens Rugby club, Allianz Park, on Thursday. Eleven pupils participated in the meet involving over 30 schools from the local area. There were some outstanding performances on the day including Archie (7OM) and Ella (7OM) winning the Year 7 competition. Toluwani (7AM) and Zac (7AM) both ran a strong race and finished in third place. Jesse (8JC) also battled through to third in the Year 8 and 9 competition. This was particularly impressive as he can compete in this age group again next year. All five Belmont pupils have made it through to the Middlesex competition that takes place on the 25th January at Harrow School. A particular mention must go to Theo (8PN) who unfortunately missed out on a qualifying spot by one place, but he does have next year to gain a place at the Middlesex Championship.

A huge well done to all those involved!

The following pupils took part: Josie (8PN), Jesse (8JC), Jamie (8JI), Theo (8PN), Arthur (8VR), Ella (7OM), Toluwani (7AM), Naomi (7GT), Archie (7OM), Zac (7AM), Tim (7JF), Finlay (7OM).

Distances ran: Year 7 Boys & Girls: 1 and a half laps (approx 2.25km), Year 8 & 9 Girls: 2 laps (approx 3km), year 8/9 Boys: 2 and a half laps (approx. 3.75km).
