U13 Girls Cricket County Borough Final

After qualifying for their place before Half Term the U13 Girls Cricket team competed in the County Borough Final on Thursday 22nd February. The opening game was a very tough match against an incredibly strong and experienced Godolphin & Latymer School. There was some fantastic bowling by Riva (7AW) and Jasmine (7OM) and we limited the team to 70 runs. All players had the opportunity to bat as Godolphin’s top bowler dismissed several players and, despite trying to score as many runs as possible, their fielders restricted our total and left us with 15 short. The next three games saw the Belmont girls convincingly beat the other Schools with wickets taken by Amber (7AM), Jasmine (7OM) and Katy (8VR), a brilliant catch at square leg by Riva (7AW) and diving catch by Hannah (6RB), skilful batting and running by Ella (7OM), calm and controlled wicket keeping from Sasha Turner and solid fielding from Juliette (7AW), Amba (6NP) and Seona (7GT). This meant the girls came second overall and were the County Runners up to the deserving winners Godolphin & Latymer. Well done to the following girls: Amba (6NP), Hannah (6RB), Jasmine (7OM), Juliette (7AW), Riva (7AW) Captain), Ella (7OM), Amber (7AM), Sasha (7AM), Seona (7GT) and Katy (8VR).

Many thanks for all the parents and staff who came to support this fantastic final. Miss Anderson
