The Music Department have been busy over the past few weeks in a variety of ways. All of our brass players went to watch an inspirational lunchtime recital at Mill Hill given by Katie Lodge. Katie is a graduate of Emmanuel College, Cambridge and is currently studying at The Royal Academy of Music. She has recently played at the Festival Hall, Barbican, and at the Albert Hall for the BBC proms. The boys thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
Bell plates were up for a challenge when I presented them with a set of Angklung which were very kindly loaned to us by Mr Seaton, Kirill’s grandfather. The Angklung are traditional Indonesian instruments and the music is played by numbers so our bell plate members clearly felt at home trying them out. A great experience!
