Well, what a fabulous Arctic Book Week it’s been this week! Year One have been learning all about Inuit people and how they survive in the Arctic.
We have written lots of interesting Inuit facts and have compared their lives to our own. We discovered lots of differences but we also learned that we have lots in common too!
Throughout the week, we enjoyed plenty of stories that have been read to us by teachers and parents who visited Grimsdell. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Belmont students who read some of their favourite books to the children! Thank you all!
In Maths, we began to learn about fractions; halves and quarters of 2D shapes. We learnt that a fraction is an equal part of a whole and that two halves make a whole and that four quarters also make a whole.
