“I have had the most phenomenal week! I feel like I am living a triple-life as a part time medical student, social activist and 2018 Queen’s Young Leader (QYL). On Wednesday I had the privilege of meeting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in the morning and then in the evening I had dinner with Sir John Major (former UK Prime Minister). Prince Harry gave me, and some of the other QYLs a short inspirational talk encouraging us to continue the great work we are doing.
I am passionate to continue the work I am doing through my ‘Leanne’s Amazing Medics’ programme to increase diversity across UK medical schools. Along my journey of pursuing medicine I encountered and overcame various challenges and I want to encourage students that no matter what your background is, you can overcome any challenges or obstacles in your way.
