On Tuesday the RAF section of the School’s CCF travelled to RAF Odiham for a field day to experience the real world RAF. The day started off with a talk from a couple of Chinook aircrew with an opportunity to learn all about the Chinook helicopter, sit in the cockpit and ask any questions. We were then allowed time in the small arms bay to learn from the technical arms officers about all the weapons that may be carried onboard and in the field if needed. The day ended with some demonstrations and presentations on all the survival equipment that the RAF use. It was a great day with some fantastic stories from the RAF personnel, and a great opportunity to see first hand how an RAF base operates.
