This term the activities in Nursery aim to continue developing their basic motor skills and their gross and fine co-ordination, including hand – eye co-ordination and manipulative skills. We will put these skills into simple motor games. In our first lesson Nursery were introduced to the ‘easy grip’ balls and had the opportunity to practise different ways to roll and pass the balls. They all had loads of fun using, as they call them, the ‘bumpy’ or ‘spotty’ balls!
This week they also had a taste of what circuit training is all about. This is an adapted regular circuit training designed for older pupils. This particular circuit allows for a cardiovascular workout followed by co-ordination and balance. Children also learn to rotate from station to station and learn the importance of recovery time.
