This Thursday, as part our Mental Health Awareness Week, Mill Hill School welcomed Natasha Devon MBE who gave an enlightening talk about body image, mental health and social equality. Natasha is a writer, campaigner and pundit who tours schools and colleges throughout the UK, conducting research and delivering talks which highlight the importance of discussing mental health and creating supportive environments which encourage happy minds.
We got the chance to speak to Natasha after her talk and asked what fuelled her commitment to raising awareness of mental health, to which she replied “Everybody has mental health and as much as it is important to learn about our bodies we need to learn about our minds too.”
Natasha’s talk was enjoyed by both staff and pupils, who listened intently before asking questions, at times challenging ones. We would like to say a huge thank you to Natasha for taking the time to come and see us and hope to welcome her back again in the future.
