Belmont pupils giving back to the local community

Last week it was the Angles chance to give something back, working closely with ‘Gratitude’ and ‘Give Together’ the Angles cooked a meal for the homeless. The group were absolutely fantastic and made a variety of food from scratch including, vegetable burgers, vegetable tagine, salad and pitta, curry and vegan cupcakes. All the meals prepared were vegetarian to accommodate as many people as possible. The children worked hard preparing the meals from food very kindly donated by Waitrose. It certainly showed that many of the Belmont children had prepared food at home before as their knowledge of utensils and how to use them were pretty good, however, their washing and drying up certainly left something to be desired. The food was delivered by Gratitude to a women’s shelter in Barnet and Mencap assisted in living accommodation for the disabled. Both were pleased and appreciative of the food especially as it was made by kids for the community.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Miller who is the founder of ‘Give Together’ for all her support, hard work and organisation in helping create these opportunities for Belmont children to give something back to the local community.
