This week in Year One, we have begun to plan and write our ‘Queen’s Crown’ stories following the letter we received from the Queen last week requesting that we write her a new story. We tried to make our stories really interesting to read by remembering to include different time connectives, a range of travel verbs in the past tense and all of the different places the Queen might have to go to find her lost crown. It took a great amount of planning and thinking time, but we persevered and planned and wrote some fabulous stories! We also read ‘The Queen’s Knickers’ and designed and made our own pair of special underpants or knickers using collage materials.
In Maths, we learned how to add three single-digit numbers by spotting doubles and number bonds and we also added and subtracted 10 to and from two-digit numbers.
